Our man Newt seems to be on the ropes these days: perhaps even about to be knocked, bruised and bleeding, from the ring. We might miss him once he's gone. Who else would scorn and jeer at the "elites in Manhattan who live in high-rise buildings and ride the subway." Only Newt would, even as he stays out of our elite subway, and limos over to Tiffany's to pick up another trifling bauble for Callista.
It is clear that Newt, the legendary historian, has a tendency toward the grandiose, and can sound an awful lot like other grandiose leaders of the recent past:
• “There will be a mosque in Rome, only when a Roman Catholic church is permitted in Mecca.” — Benito Mussolini, Il Duce
• “There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia.” — Newt Gingrich, Il Ducebag
In that spirit, here are more quotes: Take the test to find out which are Mussolini and which are Gingrich.

A. Mussolini B. Gingrich

5. “I think I am a transformational figure. I think I am trying to effect a change so large that the people who would be hurt by the change, the liberal machine, have a natural reaction...I think because I'm so systematically purposeful about changing our world...I'm a much tougher partisan that they've seen...much more intense, much more persistent, much more willing to take risks to get it done.”
A. Mussolini B. Gingrich
6. “[My] Primary mission: Advocate of civilization, Definer of civilization, Teacher of the Rules of civilization . . . Leader . . . of the civilizing forces.”

Yes, all the quotes are from Gingrich. We tried to find equally bombastic quotes from Mussolini but just couldn’t. Gingrich sounds more like Mussolini than Mussolini did!
